Representatives of the RCC Communications Administrations from the Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Republic of Uzbekistan, Head of the ITU Area Office in Moscow and the RCC Executive Committee representatives participated in the meeting.
Deputy Minister of Communications and Information Technologies of the Azerbaijan Republic Elmir Valizade greeted the participants and reported on the practical realization of ICT development projects in the country. ВDuring the meeting, participants reviewed implementation of national strategies, programs and projects for the Information Society building in the RCC participants' countries, exchanged experiences in implementation of the ICT based government services within the framework of “e-government” systems. Great interest of those present was aroused by the information and best practices in the provision of electronic services provided by the staff of the State Commission on Student Admission, the Ministry of Taxes and the Ministry of Public Health of the Azerbaijan Republic. At the Commission meeting, prospects of ICT development and practical results of projects implemented under the strategy of the CIS member states cooperation in the informatization field were also considered. In addition, the participants of the meeting were acquainted with the outcomes of the RCC Advisory Group on coordination of works on Cyrillic alphabet introduction on the Internet activities as well as with the results of the Connect CIS Summit
Information on the results of the RCC Informatization Commission activities was presented to the participants and the Commission plans and objectives for the future were outlined. Meeting of the RCC Informatization Commission was preceded by the ITU Regional Seminar “Effective tools for measuring the information society and the creation of state e-government systems.” More information on the outcomes of this event can be found on the ITU site: www.itu.int . |
