March 22, 2018, in Moscow, Russian Federation, was held a meeting of the CIS expert group on a draft Protocol on amendments to the Agreement on cooperation in the development and use of mobile communications systems.

In accordance with the Decision of the RCC Infocommunications Commission and the RCC Telecommunication and Infocommunications Operators Board No. 40/36-7 by February 21, 2018, the representatives of the RCC Executive Committee participated in the meeting of the expert group.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus (by videoconference), the Kyrgyz Republic, the Russian Federation, and the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting of the expert group was opened by the Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation of the CIS Executive Committee Mr. Andrey Kushnirenko.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Director General of the RCC Executive Committee Ms. Natalya Zorya.

The participants adopted the agenda and the schedule of the meeting.

The Director of the Economic Cooperation Department of the CIS Executive Committee Mr. Andrey Kushnirenko delivered information on the received comments and proposals of the CIS member states on the draft Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on Cooperation in the Development and Use of Mobile Cellular Communications Systems signed on January 17, 1997.

The participants of the meeting considered remarks and proposals received from the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.

In conclusion of the meeting, there was signed the Protocol, which will be sent for consideration to the Governments of the CIS member states.
