March 19-23, 2018, in Geneva, Switzerland, World Summit on the Information Society Forum (WSIS-2018) was held.

     The WSIS-2018 Forum is the world's largest annual meeting of the community "Information and Communication Technologies for Development", which is organized by ITU in close cooperation with all UN agencies.

     The main themes of the WSIS-2018 Forum are the trends of sustainable development and initiatives to expand the coverage of ICT in priority areas of the key UN sustainable development goals (SDGs), such as healthcare, zero hunger, quality education, employment and opportunities for women, environmental protection, infrastructure and innovations.

     More than 200 specialized workshops are organized for the WSIS-2018 Forum on a wide range of topics identified through a participatory process.

     In the work of the WSIS-2018 Forum participate: Director General of the RCC Executive Committee Mr. N. Mukhitdinov, Deputy Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation Mr. R. Ismailov, Deputy Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. E. Velizade.

     The representatives of more than 150 countries, including ministers and experts, civil society leaders, scientists, business leaders and representatives of international organizations participate in the work of the WSIS-2018 Forum.
