At the meeting took part Representatives of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Moldova, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of CIS interstate and intergovernmental bodies, as well as the CIS Executive Committee and the RCC Executive Committee.
From the RCC Executive Committee at the meeting took part: - Director General of the RCC Executive Committee Mr. Nurudin N.Mukhitdinov ; - Deputy Director General of the RCC Executive Committee Mrs. Natalia E. Zorya. Within the framework of consideration of the issue "On the implementation of the Strategy of Cooperation of the CIS Member States in the Building and Development of the Information Society for the Period until 2025", Deputy Director General of the RCC Executive Committee Mrs. Natalya E. Zorya made a report. In her speech, Mrs. Natalya E. Zorya noted that information and communication technologies (ICT) today are one of the key components of the development of the society, both in the RCC space and throughout the world as a whole. Implementing the national ICT programs and the activities of the Strategy for Cooperation in Building and Developing the Information Society for the period until 2025, the RCC participants countries have made some progress towards building and joining the global information society, as well as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals adopted in September 2015 at the UN headquarters (New York, USA).
In accordance with the adopted Decision, the submitted information on the implementation of Strategy-2025 is included in the information-analytical and reference materials for the meeting of the CIS Economic Council. This issue is planned to be considered at the next joint meeting of the Board of the RCC CAs Heads and Coordination Council (Ashgabat, Turkmenistan), as well as within the framework of the 6th meeting of the High-level Working Group on Information Society Development.
In conclusion, the participants expressed their gratitude to the CIS member states, the CIS Executive Committee and the RCC Executive Committee for the provided information.
