On 13-14 May 2014 in Tashkent (Republic of Uzbekistan) the first international workshop for RCC communications administrations specialists within the framework of UPU Strategical regional project “The quality of service and improvement of the logistics network in the Europe and CIS countries” was held.


The workshop was organized by RCC Executive Committee, UPU International Bureau in cooperation with CA of Uzbekistan.

In the workshop took part the Directors Generals and Vice- Directors Generals of the national postal operators, Heads of structure departments, specialists
of Ministries/Agences/Committees, working on issues of postal communication, leading specialists from communications administrations and national coordinators of project from appointed operators. The total number of participants was more than 30.

Specialists from the RCC CAs and UPU IB made presentations at the workshop.

During the workshop was discussed the information about work, conducted by appointed operators after realization of the project on improvement the quality in 2009-2012. The representatives of the UPU IB presented the project on improvement the quality on 2014-2016 in the context of Regional plan of postal development. It was provided an overview in the field of quality in the RCC countries.

The participants of the workshop discussed the national activities plans in the field of improvement the quality of service on 2014-2016.

The huge block of issues was devoted to presentation of the logistic networks: the basic standards and advantage from application of standards in postal service, use of UPU software in order to improve the operation of the transmission by analyzing the PREDES/RESDES messages and other, compliance with standard addressing S42, introduction of physical addressing, implementation postal code, postal operations with use of more perfect addressing system.

During the workshop were provided trainings on development of nation actions plans in the field of improvement the quality of service.
