On 25 November, 2010 in Moscow the 12th meeting of the Information Security Commission under the Coordination Council of the CIS member states for Informatization attached to RCC took place.

The meeting was attended by representatives of communications administrations and authorities of public administration dealing with information security of the Republic of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Also the meeting was attended by representatives of the parent organization for the scientific support of information security of the member states of the Coordinating Council (parent organization), Public Advisory Council to the Commission and invited experts.

The meeting participants familiarized themselves with the Commission's suggestions in the section "Information Security" for use in an updated version of the Strategy of cooperation of CIS Countries in the Field of Information and Action Plan for its implementation upon 2015.

Considering the issue of the creation of the CIS Centre to provide security in cyberspace, the Commission decided to develop a plan, a list of activities to create it and to present it at the next meeting of the Coordinating Council.

Likewise, the meeting got acquainted with a trained parent organization draft Convention on the recognition of the legal value of electronic documents in the international exchange of information between CIS countries.

Parent organization in conjunction with a public Advisory Board and the members of the Commission addressed with information on the implementation of technologies and implementation of cross-border exchange of information relating to the control of imports and exports of ICT products containing cryptographic functions and means of information protection in the CIS countries.

Also the members of the Commission were given a draft recommendation on the application documents of official carrier for the protection of personal data.

During the meeting, participants also learned about the action plan for joint measures to promote the position of the internationalization of Internet governance at international forums.

A particular importance was given to a training of specialists in the field of information security. The information on this subject was given by invited experts from the Institute of PVTI and MTUCI.

The next meeting of the Commission on information security is decided to be held in March 2011.
