During the 19th Azerbaijan International Exhibition and Conference “Telecommunication and International Technologies” BakuTel-2013 the High level meeting of the RCC participants on prospective and effective use of radio frequency bands 694-790 MHz was held. The High level meeting was held in the format of Round Table.
The delegations of the RCC full members – Communications Administrations (CAs)
of Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan and RCC observers – CAs of the Republic of Latvia, Republic of Slovenia, as well as guests from International Telecommunications Union (ITU), the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), Ministry of communications and information technologies of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ministry of communications and information technologies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Finnish Communication Regulation Authority, “Nokia Solutions and Networks”, “Huawei”, “LM Ericsson” took part at the session.
The Chairman of the RCC Board, Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications
of the Russian Federation, Mr. Nikolay A. Nikiforov chaired the session.
On behalf of the Government of the Azerbaijan Republic the speech of welcome was made
by the Minister of the Azerbaijan Republic Mr. Ali Mamed ogly Abbasov.
Speech of welcome was made on behalf of Secretary General of ITU Dr Hamadoun I. Touré.
During the High level meeting were discussed issues on prospective and effective use of radio frequency bands 694-790 MHz at the RCC participants countries and neighboring countries. Participant of the Round Table shared information practical experience and ongoing researches
in this band within the framework of the RCC, ITU, ETSI and other organizations, exchanged plans on organizations of production of broadband wireless access equipment of radio frequency bands 694-790 MHz.
On the results of the Round Table participants adopted the Final document, which noted that the issue on prospective and effective use of radio frequency bands 694-790 MHz is important and urgent at this stage and discussion is useful for formation the position of administrations due
to further development of various technologies in radio frequency 694-790 MHz. It was also noted, that the RCC Communications Administrations appropriate to continue researches on the current and prospective use of radio frequency bands 694-790 MHz in order to prepare the consolidated position of the RCC CAs for WRC- 15 on this band.
Participants were also noted the usefulness of consideration this issue at the next session of the RCC CAs Board.
