25 – 26 February 2016 in Astana (the Republic of Kazakhstan) the 9-th meeting of the RCC Commission on regulation of the use of radiofrequency spectrum and satellite orbits was held.
Meeting of the RCC Commission on regulation of the use of radiofrequency spectrum and satellite orbits was chaired by the Chairman of the Commission Director General of the FSUE NIIR, Valery V. Butenko.
At the opening of the Meeting the Deputy chairman of the Committee of communications informatization and information of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Dmitriy V.Goloburda made a speech of welcome.
On behalf of the Executive Committee of the Regional Commonwealth in the field of communications the Director General Nurudin N. Mukhitdinov welcomed the delegates.
At the meeting took part representatives of the Azerbaijan Republic, Republic of Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russian Federation, Republic of Uzbekistan and also IARU-R1, ITU, RCC Executive Committee.
At a meeting of the RCC Commission were discussed topical issues of radio and broadcasting and approved the reports of the Working Groups for broadcasting, for the management of radio frequency spectrum and the preparation for WRC-15/RA-15.
The Commission approved and recommended for use by RCC countries the following documents:
Taking in the account the ITU-R Resolution 66 of the Radiocommunication Assembly on the study of the wireless systems and applications for the Internet of Things (IOT), the Commission noted the usefulness of the work to compile and codify the current development of radio technologies for the Internet of Things (IoT).
In order to prepare the RCC to the Radiocommunication Assembly 2019 and the World Radiocommunication Conference of the International Telecommunication Union in 2019, the Commission established a Working group on preparation to these forums and approved the draft Plan of RCC CAs preparations for RA-19 and WRC-19.
The meeting approved the work plan of the Commission for 2016-2019, which determines the direction of the Working Group on broadcasting and the radio frequency spectrum management.
The Commission considered the preparations for the 25th anniversary of the RCC and took the necessary decisions.
The Commission has decided to support the entry of the company «Iridium» in its membership as an observer.
At the suggestion of the Communications Administration of the Republic of Belarus the next meeting of the Commission scheduled to be held in Minsk in September 2016.
